Working for Hayama's future
17 years ago I decided to run for the position of councillor in Hayama since I had a strong wish that this beautiful town of Hayama should be a place that not only our children but our grandchildren can be proud of and where everyone can live a happy active life.
During my time as councillor we faced many challenges - currently our nation is facing a declining birth rate together with changes in the social fabric such that there is a widening gap between the rich and poor.Environmental destruction on a global scale is also a serious issue.
In these changing times we must be all the more determined to think about the future of our town, so that we can hand over a better Hayama to our children. I would like to work with as many of you as possible to create a town where the residents, themselves, hold the key to their future, involved in and contributing to the decisions we face together.
